Any Shopify theme can be switched or translated into any international language. All standard Shopify themes have pre-installed translations into the main languages of the world. To switch the theme to a required language, just specify the main language in the store settings.
Unfortunately, not every theme provides for translation of content into requared language. In this case, you will have to translate the theme phrases yourself (all or only the necessary ones).
You can translate a Shopify theme from a special interface of the store's administrative panel. Below is a short instruction on where to find this interface.
So, first of all, go to the Themes subsection of the Online Store section of your online store:
On the right side, all themes installed in your online store are displayed. To start the translation process, in the Actions drop-down list of the topmost (current) theme, select Edit default theme content:
You will see the theme sections and phrases that can be translated into any language. The number of untranslated phrases is shown above. By clicking on the filter this page link in the notification, you can filter out all untranslated phrases.
During the translation process, be careful to leave technical variables enclosed in curly brackets {{ }} or {% %} unchanged, as well as HTML tags enclosed in angle brackets < />:
If you would like to use multiple languages in your store, you can do so using Shopify apps. For example, with the standard free Shopify Translate & Adapt app, you can add one additional language to your store, and with the third-party paid app like Langify app, that let you get a more comprehensive service for creating a multilingual store.
